"Oh Demetria! You look glowing today! So you’ve fully recovered since last month?" Mrs. Keen, the librarian beamed at me, examining my healed form. I smiled warmly at the lady and nodded. "Yes, definitely. I feel so much better. I’m fully recovered, and excited that graduation is only a month and a half away." I placed my bag on the counter between us, pulling out my folders and notebooks. Mrs. Keen chuckled gently and gathered all my homework together, separating the subjects and placing them in order so it’d be easier for her to give them to teachers later. "Yes, most seniors tend to be excited about that part. 18 years old and being a high school graduate offers a lot of freedom. Are you 18 yet, darling?" I smiled and shook my head. "No, actually, I’m turning 17 next week." She halted her actions, lifting a brow in my direction. "16 and a senior? Did you skip a grade?" I shook my head once more, closing my bag and slipping it back on my shoulder. "Nah, I’m smart, but not that smart. The foster home I was in before accidently switched my records with another kid and enrolled me in school a year early. Everything was corrected but they figured it’d be easier to just let me continue." She nodded. "Ah, I see." Mrs. Keen gave me a quick smile as she put the stack of homework in her desk and typed something into the computer. "Okay, you’re all set. See you next week." "Wait, next week?"
